In Control, But Not In Control

Do you ever wonder who is in total control over the world? Well let me tell you, it’s not God. It’s Satan. (A.K.A., the devil.) See, if God had total control over the world, then there would be no sin, no disease, no pain, no suffering. But there is. My brother Zekey passed away from Batten Disease. Disease took him away. Do you think I wanted that? No. Some people think God brings all the bad things in the world, but for a reason. No, he doesn’t bring any of that. He only brings love, joy, peace, mercy, and so much more! (Good things, obviously.) Satan is only existing to steal, kill, and destroy. He is the ruler of the world.

Not to be negative, but Satan has been the ruler of the world for a long time now. Keep in mind that Satan is the ruler of the earth, and God is not. It sounds a little odd, that the One True God is not in control of what He created. But sadly, it’s true. If you are still doubting, read these verses…

1 John 5:19: “We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one.” Pretty straight forward, but it makes me think. If God was in total control and Zeke still died, I would be so mad at God. My anger would probably never go away. But there is so much proof that Satan has control over earth, and that he causes sin and disease. Sin started at the fall in Genesis, and that includes disease. Also death.

John 16:11: “…of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.” God has done nothing wrong, so why is He to be judged? On the other hand, Satan is definitely in need of judgment.

John 14:30: “I will no longer talk much with you, for the ruler of this world is coming, and he has nothing in Me.” See how “Me” is capitalized? That is for God only, and he is mentioning another person in this verse. (Hint, hint! The ruler of the world.) So, God is not the ruler of the world.

One more…

Revelation 12:12: “Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and you who dwell in them! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has a short time.” Satan knows he will be crushed one day, so he is filling his time “alive” with his treachery. He is doing all he can to make the world a terrible place. He is trying to ruin God’s beautiful creation, which includes you and me.

God has some control, but Satan has more. It’s not like God can’t have any control over the earth, He just doesn’t want to “program us” like mindless robots to make us do good. God loves us. When someone truly loves you, they give you a choice. So don’t think God makes bad things happen. He doesn’t. If someone loved you, then why would they do bad things to you?
